I wish that the Wii-u allowed people to send messages to other people without adding them but Nintendo's privacy sh*t won't allow that

No, it´s like Xbox with gamertag and sh*t.

You add someone´s name and you´ve got a friendlist like the Wii´s address book which works for all games and tells you what everyone´s doing right now. "Playing BO2 Domination On Slums" or something like that. Even while you´re not in the game.
